Moment Just Before Death | Official Trailer Launch
While there is nothing new in actors venturing out to start their own production houses, when the youth icon has chosen to venture into productions, with his company titled Sunny Wayne Productions, he has chosen to do so with a difference. The actor has chosen to produce a play, and not a movie. At the press meet held in Kochi Marriott, actor Siddique unveiled the first poster of the acclaimed play by director Liju Krishna, Moment Just Before Death.
Sunny Wayne says that his first venture — the play — is a dedication to his gurus and he wishes to bridge the gap between cinema and theatre through this move.
Moment Just before Death pivots around an old man, whose body sweeps through evanescent memories, pleasant smell of tender toddy, wild flowers drenched in longing, and the endless waiting for his own coffin. The coffin is the seminal image which gives life to events and characters, and the old man is shaping up his coffin day by day. The play attempts to represent graphically the old man’s views to the spectators when he attempts to reorganize his layers of reveries lauded with love, gruesome realities of life and thoughts.
Most spectacular features of the play are the nonlinear narrative, eruptions of events and fluidity of situations and characters, and the inter-relationship between local cultures, beings and languages, and the trauma of alienation.
Liju Krishna is a young theatre and Indie film director based in Thrissur, currently doing his Masters in Theatre Arts from Calicut University. He holds a Bachelor in Theatre Arts from School of Drama with specialization in Acting, besides a Diploma in Design & Digital film making from Image College of Arts, Chennai affiliated to University of Wales, London.
Moment Just Before Death, written and directed by Liju, was selected from over 300 plays all over India. He has received the Young Artist Award 2011–2012 (Scholarship for Young Artist) from the Ministry of Culture, New Delhi. His short film, ‘Photogenic’ had received many awards at National Short Film and Documentary Festival (2013).
Currently he is the artistic director of Saga Entertainment, Thrissur, which was founded by him in 2013.
Saga Entertainment is cultural group based in Thrissur, formed by a group of young theatre students, in 2013, with the aim of producing and promoting cutting edge work in theatre and films. Moment Just Before Death is their first production in theatre. It was nominated in six categories (Best Play, Best Director, Best Original Script, Best Designer, Best Actor & Best Light Design), and won two awards including Best Actor in Leading Role (Male) & Best Designer at the prestigious 2014 Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META).

A special show of Moment Just Before Death will be staged at JT Pac, Tripunithura — Kochi, on June 10 at 7 pm.
