Just so you know, you are dying

Is the title really that surprising? You know this fact already don’t you?

You are dying, and I am not talking about smoking, drinking, or hurting your body in other ways.

You are dying, and I am not talking about being sad, depressed, bored or hurting your heart in any other ways.

You are dying, because the ultimate truth of life, is death. It is the one and only destiny that we all living beings are pursuing.

With every breath you take, you come one step closer to death.

Whether you even consider it or not, you are dying, and you can’t escape from it, can you.

No matter how hard it seems to stop peeing abruptly when the holy water is only half-poured, you can still do it, it’s possible.
But you can’t stop dying, it’s impossible.

Ask yourself in this moment, whether you are grateful or resentful, towards something or someone.
No, really, don’t just read, ask yourself: In this moment, are you grateful or resentful, towards something or someone?
Hey, don’t worry, whatever, because anyways, you are dying.

When you find yourself spending hours looking at your digital screens, lifelessly, bored, hoping to find something interesting, in the endless stream of validation-seeking activities that others pursue, just remember, that you are dying.

Whether you do something or you don’t, whether you are asleep or you are awake, whether you act or you don’t, whether you eat or shit or do both at the same time, you are dying.

When you have something beautiful to say to somebody, but you don’t, you miss to embrace the charm in yourself. And also, you die a little.

Every time somebody says something beautiful to you, and you don’t respond to that, you miss to embrace the charm in the other person. And of course, you die a little.

You can avoid a difficult conversation, but you can’t avoid dying.

While you are trying hard to sustain the illusion of safety and security in your life, well, just so you know, your death is kept well-secured for you.

While you are chasing your dreams, realize that the ultimate chase is death.

While you are pursuing your successful career, don’t forget that the ultimate pursuit is death.

While you are talking about things that don’t matter to you, with the people that you don’t care about, to get things that you don’t really desire, you are dying.

Oh go ahead, and be afraid of quitting that soul crushing job, or leaving that horrible person. Be afraid of criticism. Be afraid of losing money. Be afraid of rejections and failures. Be afraid of being wrong. Be afraid of hurting yourself or somebody. Be afraid of whatever the heck you want to be afraid of, and run away, far away from everything. Develop thousand phobias. But you know what, your worst fear, death, is on it’s way towards you, and you can’t run away from it.

Now don’t get me wrong.

Of course, also the moments you spend in gratefulness, in accepting what the universe has to offer, in love, in kindness, in happiness, you die a little.
The moments you spend in the company of a wise person, in helping a helpless, in sailing the ocean, in the activity you truly love, in an adventure, in imagining, in friendship, in healing, you die a little.
The moments you spend in peace, in appreciating beauty, in being strong, in following your desire, in passion, you die a little.
You die a little in all these moments, because you can’t avoid dying. But hey, at least you can say, that in these same moments, you also live.
