Changing one’s perspective can be quite effective in overcoming the fear of not being original. I’m not saying we should embrace mediocrity. It’s more about striving a balance. It’s about realizing we can take the best and improve upon the worst.

Everything we are and do comes from our experiences in the actions of others. Think of how distortion pedals have permeated rock music or flat design has impacted UI design. Great things come about by simply trying to 1-up the existing iterations.
