A healthy mind in a healthy body.”Mens_sana_in_corpore_sano

There is a healthy mind in a healthy body. When we are good with our bodies we feel good with our minds.

This is not just a slogan, this is the truth.

“To keep the body in good health is a duty, otherwise we shall not be able to keep the mind strong and clear.” – Buddha

When I was in my early 20s, I tried different types of exercises. Such as yoga, aerobics, swimming, aikido, dancing, etc.

At first, I wanted to follow my curiosity because all these things had to do with personal growth.

Yet, the impact and influence of these experiences help me learn what kind of exercises suit me. And which ones do not.

The type of exercise that is suitable for my body is a combination of cardio. Some strength training, and breathing exercises.

Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live in.” — Jim Rohn

Each of us has a different body. Each body has different needs. This affects what kind of exercise is appropriate for a body.

It is very important to know what type of exercise is appropriate for your body and what is not. Especially if you have a history of injury.

You need to know which exercises you can and cannot do to avoid unnecessary risks.

Physical exercise is one of the best ways to stay physically healthy.

If it is combined with proper nutrition will bring you closer to your goal. That is to improve your health and well-being.

Here are some examples of the type of exercises that you can use as a reference:

1. Cardiovascular exercise

What is Cardiovascular exercise?

According to fyzical.com cardiovascular exercise also called aerobic or endurance exercise, cardiovascular exercise is any form of activity that uses aerobic metabolism. That is, during the activity, oxygen is heavily involved in the cellular reactions that produce the energy necessary to sustain the activity.

These types of exercises are divided into 3 categories, high impact, low impact, and no impact.

High impact e.g. Dancing, jumping rope, etc.
Low impact e.g. Walking, hiking, etc.
No Impact E.g. Cycling, aquatic exercise, etc.

What are your choices?

If you have never exercised before, it is good and safe for your body to start with a low impact. Once you get used to it, you can try to increase the intensity of your exercise and continue with high impact.

2. Strengthening exercises

What are Strengthening Exercises?

According to physio.co.uk strengthening exercises are exercises that are designed to increase the strength of specific groups of muscles. Strengthening exercises overload the muscle until the point of muscle fatigue. This force and overload of a muscle encourage growth, increasing the strength.

For example, weight lifting, push-ups, sit-ups, heavy gardening, stair climbing, etc.

Some women are not comfortable with strength training. I have seen many women avoid strength training. And only do endurance training such as cardio when they go to the gym.

They are afraid of getting “too bulky” when they lift weights, but I have learned that is not true.

Women can do strength training without worrying about their muscles getting bulky Because women don’t produce as much testosterone as men.

3. Flexibility exercise

What are flexibility exercises?

According to nhs. uk flexibility exercises are activities that improve the ability of a joint to maintain the movement necessary for carrying out daily tasks and physical activity.

Health professionals believe that improving your flexibility can improve your posture, reduce aches and pains, and lower your risk of injury.

Are you someone who loves calm music and avoids exercises with a lot of movement? Then yoga, taichi, pilates, or stretching are probably right for you.

Even if you don’t have time for a big workout, stretching in the morning and night really changes your body. — Erin Heatherton

Now you may be asking yourself, I know all these things are important, but how can I find a strong reason to do this?

There are many reasons. Some of the reasons are to lose weight, to reduce stress, to spend free time doing useful activities, or to be more physically attractive, feel better about yourself, and have more confidence.

Whatever the reasons, the main purpose is still the same: to be healthy and take care of your well-being.

All the above examples are exercises that you can do both indoors and outdoors. Indeed, the results of an exercise do not present themselves in one night. It takes time for your bodies to get used to it.

When choosing a certain type of exercise or diet. You need to consider whether it is suitable for your body, your needs, and your health.

The greatest “wealth is health.”
