Joss Whedon will continue on as director of The Justice League.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, director Zack Snyder will be stepping down as director of D.C.’s Justice League movie. His daughter Autumn committed suicide back in March of this year. He will be replaced by director Joss Whedon. Whedon is known for directing movies such as Marvel’s Avengers and Avengers Age of Ultron. Apparently Snyder had Whedon write some extra scenes. During filming for said scenes It was decided that Whedon step in. Whedon recently took up the mantel as director of the upcoming film Batgirl so, he was a good choice.
There are some who are rejoicing about his tragedy. Others question why Snyder did not step down back in March. The thing about Zack Snyder is that he is passionate about creating his films. That is not to say that other directors are not. What I mean is that he is the sole reason why DC decided to expand their movie universe beyond Batman in my opinion. He puts his all in them regardless of the backlash. I’ve heard that Snyder is a nice guy one that the actors enjoy working with him on his films. I am saddened by this tragedy. I feel for Snyder and his family. I’m looking forward to seeing Justice League when it is released in theaters.
