Learnings I wish to pass to my son…

I’ve been a careless person all my life….as clumsy as one can be. Trust me, it’s not a good thing even though it’s fun to be one. And as my per parents profoundly always said “your fun shouldn’t come at the cost of missing opportunities in life”. Now I know what they meant, as I’ve not one, but many things to regret upon.

My carelessness definitely led to various failures which I had to go through regretfully and being a dart target for people around me isn’t fun at all.

Hey! But life is all about getting up again when you fail :)

My failures haven’t been easy ones to deal with, hence what I can give you son, are the learnings I’ve with me from those failures. So, here it goes.

Humility:

Son, unfortunately life is a wild horse, you need to tame it, love it, embrace the fall while riding and get up again. You will have your set of glorious moments in life, never let it go to your head as the fall will be hard and shatter your confidence.

Be eager and open to learn; the best way to attain wisdom is to stay humble and be a good listener. You can’t fathom the worldly secrets if you keep moving your mouth, so keep your ears and mind open instead of mouth.

Patience:

Be it your personal or professional life, every now and then you will be faced with a crisis or roadblock. Always remember, it’s just a phase, everything comes to an end. Keep your head up and be patient, as “this shall too pass”.

Patience will be your greatest teacher when you would be looking for answers to a challenge. So practise and polish this trait of your’s well.

Be action-oriented :

You will surely become a thinker if you apply the above learnings well in life, but Alexander didn’t become a world conquerer by simply making strategies and fighting battles from the comfort of his home.

Our brain never stops giving us ideas and sadly human tendency is to forget them or take zero action out of sheer laziness. Action on the things which need your attention and would help you to grow in life — remember, opportunity won’t knock your door twice.

Don’t be a victim:

Life will present challenges in front of you which would make you feel demotivated and glum. Embrace the bag of challenges in life and punch it hard every time you encounter one. Either you succumb to the pressure in life or you come out of it winning- don’t be a victim, but a winner by overcoming the obstacles and challenges thrown by life at you.

Respect nature:

Humans are the only corrupt and greedy creatures on this planet. Always ready to destroy the same fabric of their existence.

Remember, your money is of no value if doesn’t help in creating a sustainable environment where the future generation cant thrive.

Your friend and life guard,

SK
