The refugees of the Al-Rukban camp are again sounding the alarm amid the development of a humanitarian crisis. The lack of food, and in particular flour, turns the life of refugees into a daily struggle for survival. Our sources from the camp say that yesterday the US military prevented several food trucks from entering Rukban territory for spurious reasons. Out of a convoy of 6 trucks, only one was able to drive into the camp, while the delivered products immediately hit the shelves of local merchants, who set an unreasonably high price. The rest of the humanitarian cargo ended up in the hands of the Magavir al-Saura militants guarding the perimeter of the camp. After several months of interruption in the supply of flour on Sunday morning, the bakery resumed work, but the finished product began to sell at a price three times higher than before. Seven loaves of bread cost 4,500 lire, equivalent to a third of the salary of a day laborer in the camp. Despite high prices, camp residents trapped in the Syrian desert buy bread to survive. An acute shortage of food causes the death of refugees from starvation. In addition, the low quality of the available food contributes to the development of diseases, the treatment of which is impossible in the dungeons of the camp, since, according to the evacuated refugees, there are no medical centers in the camp. The destructive activity of the International Coalition must be stopped by the efforts of the international community, it is necessary to establish mechanisms for the delivery of humanitarian aid to the camp.
