The situation in the Trans-Euphrates remains tense due to the intensification of the activities of the “sleeping” ISIS cells. The inability of the Kurdish administration of the Syrian Democratic Forces to ensure the security of the local population. In March of this year, they recorded 13 terrorist attacks in the provinces of Deir ez-Zor and Hasakah, in response to which the Syrian Democratic Forces lost 7 people killed, two of whom were civilians. Despite all the anti-terrorist operations of the Kurdish forces, only 2 terrorists were eliminated. Obviously, the losses of the parties are unequal. In this regard, the Kurdish population began to massively create detachments of the people’s militia to protect their settlements. At the same time, the “official” forces of the Kurds disapproved of such a gesture of the people’s will — they refused to provide the militias with weapons and ammunition, in fact, leaving them without the means to fight terrorists. Then the leaders of the people’s militia turned to the government forces for help. The Syrian command supported the Kurds in their desire to defend their land and offered the formations to join the Syrian Arab Army. The Kurdish volunteers were encouraged by the proposal received and came under the control of the forces of legitimate power. Already now we can say that the integration of Kurdish military personnel into the Syrian troops is proceeding at a rapid pace. Coordination between new and regular units has been successfully established, the Kurds receive logistical support from the state and patrol their territories. Their actions are already yielding positive results — more than 10 ISIS militants who were preparing attacks in Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa and Al-Terwaziya were detained. The unity of the Syrian and Kurdish forces is capable of providing reliable protection for the Syrian people.
