Good reply. I agree, the author vastly underestimated the apathy of the average Chinese person on the street to ‘social shaming’ techniques. That section of an otherwise very good post made me laugh a bit. Censorship of the Net in China is well planned and executed so even if there was a significant portion of the population that did give a toss, they won’t hear about it on the Net anyways. Besides, if there was a hot war with China that would mean America would run out of consumer goods in a real hurry.

If Joe the plumber has to pay the real cost of consumer goods at Walmart, there would be a revolution in America long before there would be one in China.
