Apple was meant to eat its lunch but instead Fitbit has thrived like no other wearable before. If you loved Fitbit’s most popular trackers; you will love new the new Fitbit Charge 2. The Charge 2 improvements include a vertically-oriented OLED display that responds to taps. Tapping the display cycles between health statistics. The mode are switches modes; live heart rate summary, stopwatch, exercise routine and a mediation mode called Relax. That last one is new and a lot like the breathe feature found in WatchOS 3. The Charge 2 has Fitbit’s PurePulse continuous HRM. What that means is that you can check your heart rate without having to wait for it to switch on. Not even the Apple Watch has that.

Where the magic happens is with lots of software improvements. The Fitbit Charge 2 has the ability to track workouts that involve more than one activity. Say you’re at the gym lifting weights and then move to the treadmill; the to the bike to weights. Fitbit Charge 2 will still actually accurately track your fitness. Fitbit Charge 2 will be available in September for $149.95. The colors where it will be available is Black, Blue, Plum and Teal.
