Start the Day With Making Your Bed Perfect

Recently I had a conversation with my colleagues. Actually, with my team. It’s about something I do habitually.

Last month was a bit tough and I was living alone at home. So, most of the times I grabbed meals from outside. But, when I am at home I couldn’t resist cooking something and making myself a tea. Wait, I’d say making something to eat and drink.

(I am good at cooking if the following are considered as cooking. Making some noodles, oat meal or getting some eggs scrambled; basically, making the egg to whatever form edible.)

Here comes the interesting part.
Plates, cups and other items are in a state to wash after a meal. Normally, I do leave it near the sink and wash it before the next meal at home. Most probably the next day before dinner.

So, few of my team mates couldn’t digest after hearing this. So, I got a very good advice from one of them.

Story Time

There is a temple where a clergyman and a worker lived. There was a house very close to this temple. Every morning this clergyman and the worker noticed an old lady was sweeping the garden. The worker was curious why she wants to sweep everyday when she can do it once a week?

Yes, I also would think the same way.

But, the clergyman’s reply actually changed the perception of the worker.

She is not sweeping the garden. But, what is swept there is her laziness.

What now?

I then watched a video by a guest speaker at a graduation.
While hearing the part which spoke about starting the day with making your bed perfect, what happened few days back and the lesson my colleague taught made better sense to me.

I also make the bed perfect before the next day sleep.

Thought that might be helpful for you as well.
Here is the video. A must watch!
