We have started to play around with Cinema 4D, and this week I followed a tutorial to make a continuous loop animation. This was my first time attempting to make something a loop, as well as using materials and various other tools within Cinema 4D. The main problem I ran into was when I was trying to render the project. I made way too many polygons on the project, which in the end made the render take an enormous amount of time (each frame took 5 mins…). Overall though, I had so much fun digging deeper into this tool, and I really want to work hard to get a grip on materials and using the smallest amount of polygons total before I render the project.

For this assignment, I decided to print a Comme des Garcons keychain for myself with a template I found on Thingiverse. At first, I kept getting error message after error message and could not understand what I was doing wrong. I went home, cleared my head and tried again the next day. On my first try, I finally got it to print without a single error message! This assignment was so much fun to complete because I could actually hold what I had created. I think 3D printing is something that I would like to continue working with, and next time I want to print something that I actually design.
