The pandemic changed my lifestyle completely!!!
Maybe, its too late. But I have been on Medium for just a week now. So please bear with me.
I can distinguish my life as Before the Pandemic and After the Pandemic like BC and AD.
When my office announced WFH, I didn’t think about the severity of COVID-19. The first thing that came to my mind was, I don’t need to wake up early.
Yes, other things were going to excite me about WFH.
Don’t need to wake up early; don’t need to travel for more than 1 hour in the city traffic; don’t need to fight with my sibling for bathroom; don’t need to hurry up to the office; don’t need to think more about the daily outfits. I was excited to have experienced all the DON’Ts.
It was March 23, 2020, when I brought my laptop home for the first time in my work. Until that day, I never worked from home. I enjoyed remained at home during the days of the first month — working flexibly, spending time with my parents, connecting video calls to my friends, and eating snacks intermittently.
We thought the condition would be normal in just one or two months. But wasn’t. Covid breaks out very quickly. I have read how deadly diseases spread out until the optimal medicines are found. That was the first time I had seen it in my life. The first experience for most of the people in my age, I guess.
It was as scary as the movie “Contagion”.
Over time, speaking on the phone incessantly makes me crazy. No other way to talk to my colleagues related to work, if I want any details on time. I can’t even take a proper break in between the work.
No matter whether I take a bath or eat, I should be in front of the laptop at 9’o clock. Everybody should send a message mentioning the login time on Teams as well as turn on Texflow. Otherwise, the Texflow will consider it as LOP.
I love to ride a bike. I love to eat a variety of foods. I love to purchase dresses, make-up items, bags and other accessories. I had money in my account but the most irritating fact was no shops were open.
The funny fact is, I live very close to the commercial place of the city.
Started sitting most of the hours at work, confined in one room, not taking care of myself, just wearing night suits (better to say just suits) all day, talking with colleagues even when not at work, hearing heartbroken news on the TV channels from time to time.
All drove me to a lot of health issues.
Thank you for spending time to read my experience. I think I can write at length later about the issues that I had gone through because of the sedentary lifestyle the pandemic left me.
