We are so proud to announce that Salesforce has hit 1 million total volunteer hours! For all of you stats-obsessed out there, that’s 114 years of nonstop volunteering — 365 days a year, 24/7.

Volunteering has been a part of our company DNA from day one and we pioneered a new integrated philanthropy model based on the idea that businesses can do well while doing good — our 1–1–1 model. Part of that model means challenging our employees to donate 1 percent of their time to volunteering — and they’ve certainly met that challenge!

All across the world, our employees have volunteered in over 72 countries and with over 11,000 different nonprofits. Check out the infographic below for a closer look at some of our favorite organizations and activities.

To celebrate this huge milestone, we’re giving away grants, each worth $100,000, to these 10 amazing education-focused organizations around the world:

  1. Donors Choose (San Francisco)
  2. The Teen Resource Centre (Saint John, New Brunswick)
  3. Inspire (London)
  4. Donors Choose (Chicago)
  5. AIME (Sydney)
  6. Project Sunshine (New York)
  7. Boys and Girls Clubs (Indianapolis)
  8. Multicultural Center (Tokyo)
  9. Citywise (Dublin)
  10. Adelgundenheim (Munich)

We’re also getting our employees involved by kicking off Global Volunteer Week to encourage our employees to get out and continue logging their volunteer hours. Just because we hit 1 million hours doesn’t mean we’re slowing down and we can’t wait to get out and volunteer with our amazing nonprofit partners!
