Two minute interview with Carly: Shaking your ‘booty’ at Chester Boot Camp

Super smiley, super encouraging and a super mover, Carly is one of those fitness instructors you can feel a bit jealous of. You would never guess it now, but Carly is a fitness instructor who has really had to put the hard work in, to be where she is today. At 22 she was overweight and unhealthy, she joined a gym and started to walk everywhere. She lost 6 STONES and made health and fitness her life.

She’s been there, she knows EXACTLY what it feels like not to have the body and lifestyle you want BUT she’s done it and is living proof that you can turn your life around and become fit and healthy, even when the light at the end of the tunnel seems a distant glimmer.

Booty Camp

What is your favourite class?

It’s impossible to choose a favourite class as I truly love teaching them ALL & we run so many different types of sessions….. however we created Chester Boot Camp back in 2009 to run ladies only super fun & EFFECTIVE Boot Camp courses so I could say that our Booty Camp sessions are my continuing inspiration & are certainly what we do differently to your regular weekly keep fit class. Our original strap line was ‘drop a dress size’ & we provide a 6 week Booty Camp course with fitness sessions twice a week plus nutritional guide & advice plus ongoing daily support from our experienced instructors.

What is special about your classes?

Our sessions are FUN FUN FUN & we have a variety of classes, Boxercise, circuit training, dance fitness, fitness yoga & Pilates & team challenges plus we include sessions from guest instructors to give our recruits the chance to try new programmes, for example this year we have had Strong by Zumba (HIIT), Ballestics (ballet inspired dance & conditioning) & Pound Fit (weighted drumsticks, rock music & some serious lower body work!).

We find the mix of classes challenges our ladies every step of the way plus it enables EVERYONE to see results fast, & overall our sessions provide a welcoming & non competitive environment for ladies to train whilst having a good laugh with like minded people!!!

When are your classes?

Our boot camps & our weekly PAYG classes are held at Cheshire County Sports Club, CH2 1PR & we are also the Boogie Bounce instructors for our area too — the FAB fat blasting workout on a mini trampoline! All our class & course times are listed on our website

Do you have any Carly gems you can share with the women of Chester, in their quest for better health and fitness?

  1. Do NOT be afraid! We all started somewhere and once that first class is complete, you are well on your way to a happy healthy you!
  2. Don’t be afraid to try new things, if it’s not for you, just don’t do it again! You never know though, you may find the session that is PERFECT for you! Makes you feel strong, motivated, like you’ve really achieved!!!!!
