I did my college thesis, in French, on the philosophical relationship between the Cubists and poet Guillaume Apollinaire. I believe that the angles and geometric shapes in Cubist paintings are a metaphor for one’s memories and experiences — random, scattered pieces that make up the whole, as messy as it is, that’s life.
