Edhi Shb Reading and My “Just Start” Project

Part 1:

Even a single word uttered by Abdul Sattar Edhi used to make a huge impact on people; that was the stature of Pakistan’s greatest philanthropist.

Throughout his life, Edhi sahab set examples for the world to follow through his actions. In fact, more work and less talk remained his principle till the very end. one of the quote I would like to discuss is:

“My religion is humanitarianism, which is the basis of every religion in the world.”

His life history shows how he devoted his whole of the life for humanity without caring whether the person belongs to which religion. How he initiated helping was very inspiring as he just started with 2 pesas and he learnt the lesson of helping others from his home — the primary education place of children. when we talk about his life, how he started and initially he worked at a wholesale shop, then he sold the clothes and set up a medical unit where he provided care even to those who arrived late at night. With the years of struggle and continuous efforts, he founded Edhi Foundation which today runs the world’s largest ambulance service (operating 1,500 of them) and offers 24-hour emergency services. It also runs charitable hospitals, orphanages, homeless shelters, women’s shelters, and rehab centers for drug addicts and mentally ill individuals.

My Learning: From the above example of Edhi shb, what I learnt is to take small initiatives and be consistent and in line with your goals. Failures will come in the way but ultimately the win will be yours.

Part 2:

  • My goal is to improve and learn interview skills to perform better next time.
  • To achieve this goal, my tasks are to identify the mistakes which I did during my last interviews. To analyze what went wrong and where was the fault. To work on my weaker areas so not to repeat those mistakes again in future.
  • I have already taken my first step to achieve this goal by joining Amal. As my one of the main purposes behind joining Amal was to learn interview skills and tactics and to improve my communication skills so as to better respond to the questions asked in the interviews.
  • Now, I have a test of a reputed organization on this Sunday and hopefully, I will qualify the test and till the time I receive the interview call, I will be able to turn my weaker areas into my stronger zones.
