Not only is Qatar the first Arab country to host fifa worldcup 2022 but it is aslo the first country in the middle east to stage the international fifa tournament. As the world cup2022 is coming closer, we will be able to see the new technology that is being used in the tournament

Advanced Cooling Tech

Starting with the stadium, the Qatar world cup 2022 will be held in stadium 974 which is a demountable stadium that has advanced cooling tech. This will help keep the temperature inside the stadium cool for the players and the fans. The system used for the cooling tech takes in chilled water to power up the system and pumps the cold air into the stadium.

Semi-Automated Offside Technology

The semi- automated offside technology will help referees make faster and more accurate offside decisions. This technology includes 12 mounted cameras underneath the roof of the stadium that tracks the ball and the limbs of the players in order to detect for any offside play.

The ball that will be played during the tournament is called the Al Rihla ball, which will includes a sensor that sends the ball’s data to the video operation room. This helps in tracking the ball’s position the moment an offside play happens.
