I think that the issue you bring up is incredibly important. As a technicality, people are allowed to record officers doing their jobs in any circumstance. This is supposed to keep officers in check, but as you bring up there are issues with this. First of all, many who begin recording videos of police brutality and the unfair treatment of minorities are arrested at some point as well. The police can easily tag them with a resisting arrest charge, interfering with an investigation or public disturbance and put cuffs on those trying to defend the liberty of the people. Furthermore, the fear factor of this occurrence prevents many from even attempting to keep officers in line.
