Really interesting read — especially the whole DNA on the blockchain thing — not sure I understand anywhere near enough about the blockchain or DNA (not technical) — but while people often discuss the blockchain to enable trust — is there a technical feasibility for it also be used to indicate a migration away from trust?

In that DNA is THE ledger right? — unique to each of us. And when a cell divides it replicates an exact copy of that DNA — like a new block forming on the blockchain containing the hash?

And during some diseases like cancer for example an error occurs during DNA replication, and causes a change in the gene — which is in essence a change in the ledger. And then further replications contain that change in the DNA (cell instructions) and cells multiply for example.

Wondering if, in theory, if the DNA was treated as the ledger, reversing the blockchain application to indicate a move away from trust— there might be useful applications, possibly for much earlier identification of DNA errors and associated diseases?
