Sam’s Maker Challenge

I love creating. I love writing, making videos, writing newsletters, designing graphics. You name it, I love to make it. Doesn’t mean I’m good at it. But I’m always willing to try. I’m the Queen of “A for Effort.”

Because of this maker brain, I tend to read and follow other makers on social media. My fascination started with Casey Neistat who is an incredible YouTuber. Then I started following entrepreneurs, designers, creators: Gary Vaynerchuk, Justin Jackson, Adam Kurtz, Austin Kleon, etc.

It didn’t cross my mind until recently that all my professional work heroes were male. It didn’t bother me until I realized that I never thought once that I could be like them. I always thought, “There over there doing awesome things and I’m over here wishing I could do awesome things.”

You don’t know until you try. So here it is. I’ve created a list of everything I want to “make.” Big or small. This idea came entirely from Justin Jackson’s MegaMaker Challenge. Justin vowed to make 100 things in one year. I’m not at 100 yet, but I’m hoping this list will grow and transform over time.
