The spring is upon us and it seems like there are more diets out there than there are leaves in the forest. The summer is coming and we are all scared of showing up in a bathing suit. But enough about starving yourself to look good! Let’s talk about cooking diet plan where you can enjoy the juicy, fresh, tasty food we can make in no time at home.

Prepare for the diet

Some people rush into starving themselves. The results sometimes come fast, but then the weight comes back with a vengeance. The trick in dieting is to keep in mind that the positive and permanent results come after a long time. Most of us, women, know the desperation that comes after we have kept a strict diet for a few days, but the scale shows the same number. This is the moment when most give up. There are some simple ways to keep yourself distracted when the thoughts of defeat appear in your head. For example, you can sign in a language course, call a friend, do some good domestic cleaning or choose a sport to practice after work. Each of those activities will distract you and will help you add some extra movement in your everyday life.

Once you manage to prepare yourself for the stress you will face while dieting, it’s time to get busy cooking.

Meat, fish, seafood

Roasted, grilled, or slow cooked meat will keep you full. Proteins are essential to every cuisine. Eating the various types of meat can only improve your health and help you eat diverse food every day. Since there are dozens of edible animals and thousands of recipes you can actually prepare food in a different way and not repeat a meal for years.

Here are couple of tricks when preparing meat:

  • Seasoning is essential. Learn how to use the spices, herbs and sauces and you will never be disappointed with the result.
  • Cook in a clean oven, BBQ or grill. This advice is strictly out of health precautions. The burned food can spoil the taste of the new one. Besides, during the cooking, the layers of grime and fat get vaporized and fall on the cooked food. This could be hazardous to health. Take extra precaution and clean up the food storage compartments and the fridge. Throw away all spoiled food and wipe the surfaces to remove all bacteria and mould.

Bread

Try eating full grain bread or the various mixes of grains and flower types. This way you will eat healthy without getting bored of the same taste every day.

One advice for you is to buy the flower from Bio-stores. This way you will be sure to get the best and you will even be able to make different blend every time.

Eggs

Dozens of recipes can help you enjoy eating eggs without being sick of the taste. Diverse your meals even more by trying the various kinds of eggs in the Wembley stores.

Keep the eggs far from direct sunlight and inside the fridge if possible. This way you will preserve them for longer.

Here is a way to tell if the egg is spoiled.

Dairy products

Cheese, milk, butter… You know the list. The Calcium in the dairy products is good for your bones. You can combine few types of yellow and white cheese and some fruits and nuts to create a delicious platter for your guests.

Don’t forget to keep the products in clean storage containers and to close the milk bottles right away. This way you will prevent dust getting inside.

Keep all dairy products in the fridge to prevent them from getting spoiled.

Fruit & Veggie Salads

The one meal you can always eat fresh is a salad. It takes less time to prepare and most of the times don’t need cooking.

Once upon a time eating fruits used to be pick-and-eat. Today it’s more like buy them, wash them and eat them. Basically the same thing.

Dry fruits could be a substitute for the fresh ones when you wish to get some new tastes. The sugar coated dry fruits are tasty, but you should be careful with them. The extra sweetener combined with fruit sugar could be dangerous.

You can ensure additional prevention from harmful bacteria by maintaining a high level of hygiene in all vegetable and fruit storage compartments.

Nuts

Now this is a treat we can have every day at any time of the day. You can add the to your home-made bread, sauces, toppings or sprinkle them over any salad or meal. Try adding some nuts to your protein shake. Walnuts mixed with honey are proven as a cure for coughing and sore throat.

Recipes

Now that you know the basics regarding the various food groups there is nothing else for you but to pick some great recipes. Here are some parting tips:

1. Keep all products in the correct storage compartment and temperature.

2. Don’t forget to use clean storage compartments and maintain your cooking appliances and cookware regularly.

3. Eat nuts and fresh foods every day.

4. Remember to experiment and try new things. This way you will always surprise yourself with new flavors and eat healthy all the time.
