I know this wasn’t the intent of the article, but it I think it has more to do with they way tech companies conduct business. They either buy up any sign of competition and acquire its IP or pummel it into obscurity before any chance for real lasting impact.

That’s the case with WhatsApp and Instagram to Facebook, and Siri to Apple and of course Snapchat to Facebook.

To me it seems there are many startups in SDC’s that are likely to be bought up if they were to make any long term disruption to Waymo, or, or…
