My resources and habits as a product designer.
1 min readSep 13, 2018
These were some things that helped me as a designer and I thought it’ll be good to share with people who are new to design, or to whoever curious!
Books:
- Don’t make me think — Steve Krug
- The Design Of Everyday Things — Donald. A. Norman
- Creativity Inc — Edwin Catmull
Online Resources:
- Invision’s Blog
- High Resolution Podcasts
- Dribbble Community
- Behance Community
- Muzli Plugin
- Quora Community
Some habits that I learned and keep:
- Sorting my Sketch working file pages into Backwork, Final, Symbols. And remembering to keep my old designs to explain my design journey.
- Keeping a document yearly titled “Things I learned in [year]”. I use this as a dumping journal for me to look back at the year’s growth. It includes inspiration, works, and even my learnings from talking to people.
- When trying to understand things, 90% listen, 10% talk. And when you do talk, it’ll be good to ask questions. I practice this in meetings and in user interviews.
More to come!
