These were some things that helped me as a designer and I thought it’ll be good to share with people who are new to design, or to whoever curious!

Books:

  • Don’t make me think — Steve Krug
  • The Design Of Everyday Things — Donald. A. Norman
  • Creativity Inc — Edwin Catmull

Online Resources:

Some habits that I learned and keep:

  • Sorting my Sketch working file pages into Backwork, Final, Symbols. And remembering to keep my old designs to explain my design journey.
  • Keeping a document yearly titled “Things I learned in [year]”. I use this as a dumping journal for me to look back at the year’s growth. It includes inspiration, works, and even my learnings from talking to people.
  • When trying to understand things, 90% listen, 10% talk. And when you do talk, it’ll be good to ask questions. I practice this in meetings and in user interviews.

More to come!
