My Game of Thrones Seasons 7 Finale Predictions

Winter has come, but Game of Thrones is almost gone. (SPOILERS)

After an epic penultimate episode, and the announcement of the title of the season 7 finale, “The Dragon and the Wolf,” let’s just say I am excited to see where this goes.

The title of the season 7 finale could be interpreted in many ways, but it seems the most likely is that the Dragon and the Wolf refers to Rhaegar Targaryan and Lyanna Stark. As Bran has been quiet and creepy or missing all season, this may be the moment he finally chooses to reveal Jon’s parentage. This could come in reaction to news reaching Sansa that Jon has bended the knee, but there is the chance that Sam may break the news. Wherever he is! While this would most definitely be a game changer, I don’t believe that it will have any negative affect on the new Jon and Dany alliance (DT+JS=❤).

The main event in this wonderfully long episode (yes, I am excited for all 79 minutes and 43 seconds) is the meeting in the Dragon Pit. While this is very obviously a trap planned by Cersei, all major players are attending even Brienne representing Sansa and the North.

The potential for the anticipated Cleganebowl occurring here is great, as the last shot of The Hound was him getting into a boat with the wight that the Snow-icide squad captured. The Mountain is clearly with Cersei, it is highly unlikely she would come face to face with this many enemies without her gigantic, undead bodyguard. I’ll be honest, I cannot even imagine what kind of craziness is going to come out of this scenario, but I can’t wait to watch it. One possibility however, is the appearance of The Golden Company, which may be Cersei’s surprise attack.

While a popular theory is that Cersei will do something so outrageous in the Dragon Pit that Jaime will have to take action against her, I do not believe that Maggy the Frog’s prophecy will come true just yet. The Lannister twins are major characters and I would be surprised if they didn’t make it to season 8.

Now that we know killing one white walker can take down all of the ones it turned, the Night King has become undesirable number one. Jon will definitely be sharing this information with his allies, and this is clearly going to be the major plot line of season 8. After a white walker heavy episode, I can’t see them playing a major part in the finale. However, it is likely that the end of the episode will feature them reaching the wall.

While the faster pace of season 7 has brought us Westerosi fast travel, it has left me with a lot of questions.

  • Where is Sam going? Will we see him again this season?
  • Is Tormund on the boat to King’s Landing with the crew, or did he stay in the North? Really hoping he gets to reunite with Brienne!
  • What on earth is Littlefinger up? Obviously causing chaos. Are the Stark girls ever going to catch on?
  • Two thoughts on Cersei’s pregnancy, is it fake or will she have a miscarriage, potential pushing her completely over the edge?

Fingers crossed for Tormund and Brienne, everyone.
