I am not a huge fan of this move by the 76ers. It was clear that there were one too many big men in Philadelphia, and trade rumors had been swirling around Okafor and Noel all season long. If I were the Sixers I would’ve dealt Okafor. There were plenty of suitors for them, as the Bulls, Lakers, and others were interested. This way they could’ve had a very solid defensive anchor while still having a big man that could produce offense in Embiid. As far as for the Mavericks, I like the deal. Noel is an underrated prospect in my opinion and could be the starting center on a future championship team. They are reportedly getting rid of Williams and also got rid of Bogut with this trade, which allows them to hand the reigns of the offesne to rookie Yogi Ferrell and start working on building a team for the future. I have heard rumors of the Rockets signing Bogut (if the Sixers release him), which I think would be a great move for them and help vault them even higher in the title race.
