Wow, these politicians are so cheap! By the way, a little off-topic I know, but why don’t we try an idea from left field: instead of handing in your tax money in one lump why not allow people to specify where there hard-earned money is spend on? Specify what percentage should go to defense, infrastructure, healthcare, social security etc. Give people a little say once a year what gets funded and what not. With today’s computer technology that shouldn’t be hard to organize, I would say.
Probably a hole-shootable idea, but in all cases: keep your politicians on a tight leash, control the money they can spend.
