Dear Mr. Trudeau and Mr. Mulcair,

On Monday October 19 no party will win a majority government. Canada will be left with another minority mandate.

Canadians need you and your parties to work together to ensure it is not the Conservative Party of Canada and Stephen Harper who forms our next government.

We need a government that does not break election rules. We need a government that does not silence Elections Canada from encouraging people to vote. We need a government that does not make it harder to cast a ballot. We need a government that does not gerrymander ridings to have a better chance at winning. We need a government that will move forward with proportional representation.

We need a government that cares about the war veterans that served Canada. We need a government that understands the consequences of bombing campaigns. We need a government that acknowledges the good refugees can bring to our country. We need a government that realizes creating second class citizens is wrong. We need a government that reminds our citizens that the Canadian identity is multiculturalism. We need a government that does not incite hatred amongst its people.

We need a government that does not muzzle science. We need a government that understands that we need more than oil and pipelines to be prosperous. We need a government that knows oil is part of our livelihoods. We need a government that stands up to climate change and paves a path forward with technology and research.

We need a government that is transparent. We need to know about debt. We need to about trade deals. We need to know about illegal off shore tax havens. We need to know about ethics breeches and we need accountability from our leaders.

Mr. Trudeau and Mr. Mulcair, you will have a chance to align your parties and govern Canada in a fair and equal manner. You can repeal Bill C-51 and Bill C-24. You can restore funding to the CBC. You can keep Canada Post serving Canadians. You can unmuzzle our brightest minds. You can ensure that Canada is great again.

Working together will not be easy. You will disagree on things. Egos will get in the way. But compromise can bring us closer to being great.

There is only one thing that will make Canada go further into the dark ages, a Stephen Harper government.

We need Stephen Harper gone.
