I read an article that ended with a short, but powerful message reading: “You deserve to be loved.”
I read that article over four months ago but I can still distinctly remember those seemingly small five words. “You deserve to be loved.”
I guess the phrase hits home because it’s something I forget sometimes. We tend to get so wrapped up in our lives and our mistakes that we can forget the bigger picture. Though we may slip up or make a mistake, that is not the end for us. Though we are imperfect, we should not be denied the most human and natural right of being loved. Remember: You deserve to be loved.
You deserve to be loved. You deserve to be loved daily, by the minute, by the second. You deserved to be loved always, despite what you do or how others make you feel. You deserved to be loved because you are human and you are a being and you need proper loving to feel complete. You deserve to be loved because it just makes sense. You just naturally and undoubtedly deserve to be loved.
If we didn’t give unconditional love to others, who even are we?
Like E. E. Cummings wrote, we would become a man{un}kind.
As a human kind, we need to love — because you deserve to be loved.
