I’ve been fired several times in a business where the average employee gets let go in three years. Thus, a person in my line of work is constantly looking for work the day he gets a similar job. Advancement to the front office is less stable because there’s no union. Your problem was you didn’t look for other work, you just hung onto the job like a rat racing in a circular cage. That was years ago. I’m now in a business where my services are in demand. It’s just that I work many hours for several days in a row with no break. A drone with a 9 to 5 mentality would not make it in my quite secure line of work.
