Believe in Yourself. You Can Do It.

Believing in yourself is a Mentality. A mentality that only you have control over.

Supporters will come and go, few will stay for the long run. Opposition and critics will always be watching, waiting, prowling, discouraging, demeaning. In this debate between possibility and doubt, light and dark, good and evil, we all have a choice. We can listen to the crowd, let the boo’s overcome us, or we can focus on what we must conquer and do everything in our power to do so. Take Walt Disney for example (one of my most beloved icons, and will be quoted through this passage) he conquered what seemed like the tallest peak to the smallest man and became a legend, all because he refused to be overcome by the voices.

“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them”- Walt Disney

Believe: v. “To accept as truth”

Mentality: n. “The characteristic attitude of mind”

Whether it is one or a thousand that oppose you, wish you malice, are filled with doubt, show blatant disregard for your capabilities — you must keeping pushing, you must keep believing. Regardless of those voices, what you deem as success is completely on you, your team, and your ability to overcome. Those are not objects that can be stolen by words of weaker men, but a mentality that only grows stronger with time, hard work, and experience.

“If you can dream it, you can do it.”-Walt Disney

It’s frustrating to stand beneath the waves as the crash over you, trying their very best to beat you down and drag you to the bottom. Whether it’s in everyday life, personal life, or business. It hurts, it stings. It’s okay to admit that. But only let those feelings last a moment, acknowledge them, understand them, but don’t dwell on them or else they distract you from the greater goal. When it gets tiring, and you’ve had more than enough, just remember there is no man in control of what you can and cannot achieve.

“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.”- Walt Disney

I mean this not to support or encourage a blind stubborn attempt at an inconceivable reality, but rather the realistic necessity of defending the seed that needs love, soil, water, and light to grow. And we must do everything in our power as friends, family, peers, leaders, mentors, and teachers to protect that seed.

The “believe in yourself” mentality will allow you to soar higher than you ever thought possible. And when you fail, take note, learn, and try again. Falling is just apart of the process, in time you’ll learn to fly.

“When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable.”-Walt Disney

Dream big. Believe bigger. Because you can.
