I wish everyone understood this. Unfortunately, most don’t. Even when interviewing at startups, the founder loves me, but then when I interview with other people, their response is something along the lines of, “Your career is too fragmented. I don’t know what box to put you in, so we’ll pass.” I’ve had to literally hide all of my startups from my resume and pretend like they never happened in order to get offers.
