The chaos of Mong Kok
Activists in Hong Kong protested outside the Hong Kong Government headquarters and occupied several major city intersections after China’s Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPCSC) announced its decision on proposed electoral reform. One of these sites is Mong Kong. Mong Kok is a place that yellow ribbon (pro-occupy group) clash with blue ribbon (anti-occupy group) constantly.
Compare with the other occupied places, Mong Kok is the most dangerous place that the conflict between pro-occupy group and anti-occupy group.
The first incident of Mong Kok is that a speeding Mercedes-Benz car charged into a crowd of protesters in Mong Kok, causing panic but no injuries. One of the witness said there was no insight of that a drive sped through a crowd of protesters.
Pro-democracy demonstrators blamed thugs tied to so-called “triad” gangs for recent attacks on protesters. The most remarkable things is that most of the gang members wear mask. Also, dropping things out of building windows always happen at Mong Kok. There are at least five times incidents since the occupy starts.Although, the police said they will not tolerate any such acts of violence, there are only few times of arrests.

In order to express the situation of Mong Kok, some activists setup a Facebook fan page which called “the infomation of the occupied area of Mong Kok”.(https://www.facebook.com/pages/%E6%97%BA%E8%A7%92%E4%BD%94%E9%A0%98%E7%8F%BE%E5%A0%B4%E8%B3%87%E8%A8%8A/1492930817622505?sk=info&ref=page_internal)

It encourages more people to join “Occupy Mong Kok”. As a result,on October 17,2014, Hong Kong police had dismantled the barricades and tents at the Mong Kok site. Police said Occupy barricades had brought more dangers to local residents and obstructed emergency access, so they had to remove those barricades in the streets to achieve a limited resumption of traffic and reduce citizen’s resentment. Police remained a small area for the protesters to express their views only.

“ Police faced limited resistance when they moved in to clear blocked roads. There are many protesters staying here. It is unreasonable that police want us to go back on the pedestrian road.”Avery Ng, vice-president of the League of Social Democrats, said.
Some protesters cried because of the clearance of Mong Kok. They said that they tried so hard to build up the barricades and collect the resources.“ It is a pity that police removed all things here without a warning. They deliberated to do this in the morning, because there are few people staying overnight.”Mr Wong ,one of the protester, said.

After the clearance of Mong Kok, the protesters did not retreat. They had taken over a large area of Nathan Road, and police had moved back from the junction of Nathan Road and Dundas Street on Saturday and Sunday. It is because many protesters, including the workers and students,do not need to work or go to school on weekend, so they can go there and support the movement.

The chaos of Mong Kok is to be continued as the government and the protesters did not make any concession.
