Trump, Brexit and my head exploding!
Angry? Shocked? Scared? YES, YES and ABSOLUTELY YES! The world has gone completely barmy! What on earth is going on? Trump is actually doing well in America and gaining serious support from imbeciles across the pond. Boris has come out saying that he is supporting the Brexit. Imbeciles all round! Just when you think the world is beginning to move on, it shoves that stupid idea straight back down your throat.
Let’s begin with our racist supporting neighbours. How people can support this balding baboon is seriously beyond me. Am I missing something? What exactly is it that people see in him? I am completely baffled by it, please, someone explain, because I fail to understand. Scrolling through Facebook the other day (procrastinating, of course), I came across a video that showed a man reading out quotes to Trump supporters. They thought they came straight out of dear old Donald’s mouth and were supporting every word. Right up until the moment that they were told that they were actually attributed to Hitler. That’s right, they supported the German dictator’s views and ideals…
It was quite shocking actually. But worse than this was a man saying, and I quote: “Well if Donald Trump said them I support them”. Yet again, people are indoctrinated by idiotic opinions (to put it lightly). “Oh look, he’s a billionaire, he doesn’t like Muslims, that must mean he’s right about absolutely everything!”. NO NO NO! How can his supporters look up to him in such an idyllic way? It’s not just shocking, it’s actually very very scary.
Then there’s this bloody wall that he is constantly babbling on about. Seriously, a wall…a WALL! Quite aside from the blatant racism here, putting up a wall is utterly ludicrous! I’m normally a person that has a lot to say (trust me on that one), but with this I am speechless. “I will build a great wall — and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me — and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.” It is genuinely laughable, he even expects Mexico to pay for it!
The problem is, it isn’t funny at all, it’s scary, really scary! Trump is getting serious support in America. And, sadly, I worry that in the future, at some other presidential election, supporters will be blindly nodding their heads at Trump quotes without actually thinking seriously about the messages they are sending out.
And now we have what is on this side of the pond, more madness!
Brexit. Synonyms to this word: stupid, crazy, shambolic…and the list goes on. All this sparked off by the oaf wearing yellow and purple. Then another bloke that pretends he rides round London on a bike comes out saying he supports this campaign! Are you kidding me?!
Let’s take a step back, look at this in terms of facts. UK exports to the EU account for 44% of the UK’s total exports. 44%! Let me repeat just so you absolutely know, FOURTY-FOUR PERCENT! Britain leave? Say goodbye to £230 billion pounds. What would this mean I wonder? I know, George Osbourne making more and more cuts to the people who seriously need the money. You can forget the NHS, because that will cease to exist if we leave the EU.We will be destroying this country’s future, one that could be bright if it wasn’t for these crazy, outdated views.
Maybe this is a bit simplistic, but we have to remember that this country is small. We need to stop inflating our already large ego and come to the realisation that we’re not the economic powerhouse that we think we are. I know what you’ll say, what about our service industry? Our financial expertise? Well, it’s very simple, they leave and move their headquarters elsewhere. Then they’re gone. Does this really have to happen for the idiots of this country to realise that they’re wrong?
Now, I will agree that the EU needs reform, and as much as I hate David Cameron, his negotiations were impressive. Ultimately, the core concept of the EU is a good idea! That cannot be disputed. So when will the ‘exit camp’ grow up and realise that collaboration is much better than shutting ourselves off from the world?
Rant over, sort of, maybe, actually it isn’t at all. I’m sure there will be much more on these topics for me to rave about (so come back to read more). For now, however, we can only hope!
