I have used to be a remote worker for around one year. The problem is that a discussion about a good hoy coffee at 10AM, or a debate around a cigarette cannot be replaced by any matter of remote 'relations' today. You can build a community, but in the meanwhile, you loose what other locals can share and see. This is the price you pay, since you pay the comfort of being 'where you want’, of not loosing 1h between your home and the office, the privilege of being free. On the other hand, i think that the day when remote working become widely adopted, you can ise these advises to differentiate of the otger remote workers.
