Reprimanding Ignorance #2

Okay, usually, when trying to justify homophobia, the religious opposition poses the following process of reasoning:

“Man and woman were meant to be together because they can reproduce, man and man (woman and woman) can’t.”

Typically, this is proof enough for them that homosexuality is a sin. But, they fail to consider the flip side of the spectrum. That is- aren’t heterosexual people just as guilty of sinning every single time they have sex without intending to reproduce? Aren’t contraceptives (condoms, birth control) just enablers of the devil’s temptations (having sex for pleasure, which, for the most part, is what we do)?

As my recently conceived adage goes:

“People are quick to point fingers but slow to raise their hands.”
