My primary issue with this was Obi-Wan’s statement that Luke is their last hope. You mentioned that above, but didn’t really answer it.

Now, what’s particularly interesting is that Rey would be Obi-Wan’s *granddaughter*. Which opens the obvious question, who was the intervening generation? Did Obi-Wan have a loveless (to preserve his purity) match with a woman, father a child, and then turn from it in disappointment when it turned out to *not* be strong in the Force? Because the Force skipped a generation?

Apparently the novelization of the movie contains more information about who Rey thinks her parents are. I will need to reserve further speculation until I read that.
