Mobile messaging is exploding everywhere as the newest form of communication for consumers. It’s quick, it’s easy, and you get notified immediately when a new message is received. Sharing attachments and photos is even as easy as a simple click of a button.

Companies innovating in the communication technology field have been big men on campus over the past year. From failed $3 billion bids of the likes of Snapchat, to successful mobile deals like the $19 billion WhatsApp acquisition — mobile communication is the future and companies are starting to make big bets.

So why have small businesses been slow to adapt to this explosive industry growth? Mobile messaging has historically had a stigma of being “informal” and in traditional SMS your client messages are mixed in amongst communication with friends and family creating unwarranted search work.

But times are changing for professionals. Mobile communication technologies are starting to improve, giving mobile messaging a professional feel, and organizing your client communication in a safe and separate location. BCG even touts that 22% of small businesses are using mobile apps to conduct business, up from 8% just 3 years prior.

Mobile is the future for both professionals and their clients, and innovative communication technologies are beginning to be released for the pros.
