The Nets are interesting right now, but when the season starts, they will be one of the most uninteresting teams ever. For this year and possibly the next two, the offseason in the NBA is more important than the post season, and so the Nets appear to be successful. But when the games start, people might remember a player like Brook Lopez, a legitimate rim protecting stretch 5, who would be a lot better on a team with other players who can defend the perimeter. The Nets are worse this year than last year, and when people remember that the Celtics have another possible #1 overall pick headed their way courtesy of the Nets, the team in Brooklyn will go back to being not interesting at all. Demarre Carroll is cooked, and we’re about to be reminded what it is about Russell that caused Magic to ship him out just two seasons after going #2 overall.
