Thanks for your input. I’m pretty careful to have read all of the folks I refer to in posts, Taylor included. Do you have a specific dimension by which you feel we should interpret him differently?
Most if not all thought leaders have been misinterpreted, Deming included. It’s not so much the purity of their thoughts that count, in the end, as the castles and monuments that are built in their name, that form the rigid structures in which we must all live and work, and which must be dismantled and rebuilt continuously as we develop more understanding. No thinker is sacred; all should be grappled with critically, to tease out where they were right, and where they were wrong.
