Healthy Eating

Sometimes eating healthy can be a drag, especially after a long day of work and school-cooking in general can be too much of an effort. Sometimes it seems like running into a fast food place can just be ‘enough’. I am the poster child for not cooking-I would rather pick up something quick until I found out how quick you can make something healthy and enjoyable with flavors bursting.

Gathering all of the Ingredients for the recipe: lettuce, basil, garlic cloves, lemon pepper, sea salt, lemon, tomatoes, and olive oil.
Placing the lettuce in the bowl and chopping up the tomatoes in slices versus whole for more color(visually pleasing) and allows more flavor to follow through.
Completing the chopping of the tomatoes. Then moving on to chopping the fresh basil, and mincing the garlic cloves.
Added the tomatoes into the salad. Now off to mincing the fresh garlic cloves! Garlic is great to add into salads as it helps the digestive system.
A glance of the tomato, minced garlic, and basil with the greens!
Adding the lemon pepper and the sea salt for flavor!
Adding the olive oil! Olive oil is a great substitute for dressing for healthy eating!
Squeezing the fresh lemon into the salad mixture. Along with olive oil, lemon is a great substitute for dressing for a lighter dressing…adds great zesty flavors!
Tossing the salad together! Mixing the following: lettuce, basil, garlic cloves, lemon pepper, sea salt, lemon, tomatoes, and olive oil.
Close up view of the colorful salad! The purple cabbage and red tomato make the colors and the olive oil, lemon, garlic, and basil really pop for the dressing!

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?
