I first created this list of my favorite Jewish nonprofit organizations back in 2016…

with a plan and clear intention to do something interesting…

My plan was to leverage and use Facebook ads to put this article in front of Jews living in Los Angeles with a $100 budget to enable other people to donate more than I could have donated with the same $100.

So I did…

And the result?

With that $100 dollars, I was able to reach 5,400 people with 747 total views to see this article.

With a very conservative conversion rate of 5% of the number of visitors who would take action and donate, 37 people of those 747 views ended up taking action and donating (0.5 x 747 views).

Assuming that the very conservative average donation would be $20 from each donation, $740 would be donated in total ($20 x 37 people).

Essentially what this means that with $100, my Facebook ads enabled 37 people to donate at least $740 to my favorite Jewish organizations.

Incredible, right?

The Torah says,

“And you shall love the Lord, your G-d, with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your might.”

By giving, we fulfill the commandment of “with all of your might.”

Further, research shows that repeated acts of kindness…

  • Make us happier
  • Improve our immune system and health
  • Produce the hormone oxytocin which in turn helps reduce blood pressure and protects our heart.

While there are hundreds of Jewish organizations in Los Angeles that need our support, here are my 9 favorite Jewish nonprofit organizations you can support right now:
