I agree with most of what you’re saying here, but college isn’t dead or not worth it. It simply needs to change — in short, educationneeds to stop being about the degree or credential. The more employers devalue degrees, the less school will be about degrees anymore. Good.
A push for tuition-free higher education (which is done in countries around the world, and our own country in the past) would also make college a better “deal.” It won’t have to be a gamble of tens of thousands of dollars to get this fancy paper credential that is becoming increasingly devalued.
