To dissenters re: the military budget, I would engage them in a discussion about why we can’t cut our military budget by 10% to fund education? I think I’d be in the right, there.
If cutting the military budget is out of the question, for some reason, we’d talk about other forms of revenue, like the Robin Hood Tax.
If it gets down to a “dissenter” rejecting every argument to fund education, that’s okay — we don’t need to convince everyone, and we don’t need the approval of cynics. We just need enough people to realize it’s possible. A few million people is less than 1% of the U.S. population. Let’s pressure the lawmakers to represent us, in mass numbers, and they will have to.
