Untitled Short Poem in the Style of a Landay
Trapped between Scylla and Charybdis,
Is it possible to make an impossible choice?
This short poem is inspired by a wonderful Landay (an Afghan style poem consisting of 2 lines, with 9 syllables in the first line and 13 syllables in the second) by Neera Handa Dr
I have been sitting on this poem for a while now because I am not sure if it captures the true essence of a Landay. Based on my research, it seems that these poems are often written in secrecy using wit to deliver impactful messages about grief, despair, forbidden love and many other deep topics. https://www.bbc.com/culture/article/20161116-the-22-syllables-that-can-get-you-killed
