Charles Babbage is considered as the ‘Father of computer’. He was an English mathematician, Philosopher, and Inventor who originated the concept of a digital programmable computer.

He was born in London on 26 December 1791.He married Georgina Whitmore at the age of 23. He is the designer of the difference engine, and the second difference engine ,but he never succeeded in building either machines. He published “Economy of manufactures and machinery” in 1832, “Sketch of the Analytical Engine” in 1842 and “Passages from the life of a philosopher” in 1864.In 1824 ,Babbage won the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical society for his invention of an engine for calculating mathematical and Astronomical tables.

Later, Charles Babbage died in October 18,1871, parts of his uncompleted mechanisms are on display in the London Science Museum. Babbage was also named the lucasian Professor of mathematics at the university of Cambridge in the year of 1928.
