What would be the most useful thing for me to know about you as a student?

I won’t get stressed out about schoolwork, even if I should be

What do you wish was different about school?

I wish there was a football team

Describe a moment in school last year when you felt really engaged. Why do you think that moment was such a positive one for you?

I felt engaged when I got into an argument with a group of kids over flying the confederate flag behind their trucks. Literally nothing could convince them that it was messed up.

What do you think teachers think about you, and what do you wish they’d think about you?

Teachers probably think I’m lazy, but I wish they knew how lazy I really am.

Tell me about a teacher who you feel knew you well. What kind of student were you in his or her class? What did he or she do to get to know you?

My debate teacher in high school knew me well because I was always engaged in his class. This is because we would talk about topics that were actually interesting to me. He also got to know my family because we would talk about personal stuff.

If you could build a school, what would it look like?

My school would be Marquette, but Straz would have 24/7 dining.

What do you wish I would ask you so that I can be a good teacher for you?

The best thing you can do is to consistently ask questions to keep me engaged.

What makes a weekend day great for you?

Sleeping at least 24 total hours.

What’s the best thing you’ve experienced on campus so far?

My best experience on campus was the national Marquette day game against Providence last year. Even though Marquette lost, it’s when I knew I wanted to come here.

What is your favorite song right now and why?

“Like I Love You” by Justin Timberlake featuring Clipse. Justin Timberlake is so sick, and it has Pusha T when he was super young. Close second is “Mo Bamba” by Sheck Wes.
