Recently, the world has gone through a lot of technological advances. Unlike when it was difficult to do things, today, you can perform different tasks by clicking a button.

For example, you can search for the how-to on search engines if you don’t know how to do something. Also, you can get prewritten templates if you want to write a formal document.

All you need to do is insert your details and content, and viola, you are done.

Prayer Must be Taught and Learnt

One day, the disciples of Jesus approached him with a request, “Teach us how to pray”. Jesus answered, “This is how you are to pray”. The answer was in the form of a template. He didn’t ask them to keep repeating the words. He asked them to input their personalized request using the structure he had already formulated.

Due to a lack of understanding, many people use this template as a quote. It is akin to giving back to God what he gives us to use as we petition him. It is not a fit for all prayers; it is a how-to guide.

The Court and the Petition

Prayer is a translation of a Hebrew word meaning petition. A petition is a legal term rather than a religious term. A petition is a legal process to the government demanding the government make good the promises and legal rights it gave in the constitution.

The kingdom of God is a country with citizens whose rights and privileges are documented in a law book. For this reason, the Bible is called the Old and New Testaments. It’s like presenting your case before a judge who decides on the matter you bring before the court. Remember the testament you gave the last time you were in court?

The Kingdom Interpretation

God is a King with a government. He defines everything. The Kingdom interpretation of the Bible guarantees interpretation in the actual context. Any other interpretation apart from the Kingdom interpretation produces an error.

Unlike the earthly kingdoms, whose governing organs are distinctive in the Kingdom of God, the kingdom and the king are inseparable. He is the legislative, the judicial, and the executive arm of government in one body. He does not take or seek opinions on any matter. “Who can counsel the lord”? He wonders.

Because God is the lord, he has designed his template for approaching him, and he expects you to follow the guide he gave you. As such, prayer must be taught and learned.

When the petition demands legal terms and procedures, you need help to understand them; you hire a lawyer who understands the intricacies of the law.

In the same way, when you hit a legal wall in your attempt to petition the King, he has provided a way. He says the advocate will take over your case if you need to know what to pray. He will invoke all the legal requirements to get what you deserve.
