In any NFT space or community, one of the most commonly asked questions is this, “How rare is my NFT?”

This is because rarity is one of the most important factors in determining the value of an individual NFT.

As you might’ve already known, each Samurai Doge is second to none, unique in its own way. Each is meticulously crafted, complete with a scenic background, armor, sashimono (flags) and weapons; some even come with accessories and ornaments.

All these different traits determine the rarity of each doge. Let’s take a closer look at each trait, shall we?

Armor

Ranging from bright neon to midnight black, we have a total of 320 armor sets. Some come with horns, others have crescents and hearts.

The armor is worn by each Samurai Doge to protect them from harm during vicious battles.

Sashimono

Sashimono, also known as flags, are small banners historically worn by samurai warriors and other soldiers during feudal Japan.

Similar to other war banners, the sashimono’s primary purpose is to help Japanese armies distinguish between companions and opponents in the heat of battle.

With almost 300 sets of sashimono, some of our sashimono designs consist of intricate geometric pattern, others have floral or nature-inspired elements.

The sashimono worn by our Samurai Doges display clan symbols or a leader’s name, serving as identification on battlefields.

Weapons

One can never enter a battlefield without any weapon and expect to walk out of it unscathed, or alive.

We have 38 sets of weapons, each serves a purpose on the battlefield:

  • Katana - A Japanese sword with a curved, single-edged blade traditionally used by the Samurai.
  • Sword - A weapon with a long metal blade for cutting and thrusting.
  • Sai - A close combat/melee weapon for striking and blocking opponents.
  • Kunai - A leaf-shaped blade with a handle and a ring at the pommel.
  • Jitte - A specialized weapon used for the disarmament of a sword-wielding opponent.
  • Kusarigama - A traditional Japanese weapon consisting of a sickle and metal weight attached to a chain.
  • Kama - A traditional weapon that’s similar to the farming sickle and usually used in pairs.

Ornaments

In the world of Samurai Doge, each of our ornaments carries a specific meaning and tells a certain story.

Maneki Neko, or more commonly known as Fortune Cat, is a cat figurine believed to bring good luck and fortune to its owner.

  • White - Brings positivity, purity and happiness.
  • Gold - Invites wealth and prosperity.
  • Black - Protection from threats and enemies.
  • Blue - Attracts peace and harmony.
  • Green - Brings academic success.
  • Red - Protection from illness and evil energy.

Viewed as ancient protectors of the people, dragons represent goodness, wisdom, nobility and strength. The green dragon symbolizes nature, whereas the gold dragon represents prosperity and wealth.

We also have Daruma, a round hollow Japanese doll that typically depicts a bearded man. This doll is a symbol of perseverance and luck, denoting a warrior’s path to greatness.

Food

Amidst long grueling battles, our warriors would definitely need food to fill their tummies and fuel their spirit. Even the most invincible samurai gets hungry.

Our doges can start with some tempura as appetizers. Tempura is a Japanese dish consisting of vegetables or seafood that are coated in a light batter and deep-fried.

For the main course, we have some delicious sushi, a traditional Japanese dish with its main ingredients consisting of raw fish wrapped with vinegared rice and seaweed.

And then there’s dessert, taiyaki. Commonly sold as street food, taiyaki is a Japanese fish-shaped cake filled with red bean paste.

Lastly, we have some tea for our warriors to cleanse their palate after a meal. Traditionally, samurai also practice chado to cultivate inner peace, discipline and mental preparedness.

Now that you’ve learned all about the different traits and what makes a Samurai Doge truly unique, it’s time to get yourself one, don’t you think?
