Intensity v Consistency

^^ which is more important for success?

Read on as I’m about to explain the difference

For years now I’ve been teaching my clients & athletes about practicing the skill set of consistency if you want to achieve success.

About how motivation ebbs & flows, and that you don’t need to be ‘motivated’ for every single workout that you do,

you just need to be disciplined enough to show up to it & get it done

Im probably motivated for about 60% of my workouts.

See here’s the thing,

you’ll find most people need consistency more than intensity.

Here’s what I mean:

INTENSITY: Do Marathon, go vegan, meditation retreat,

CONSISTENCY: Show up to workouts for 1 year, Commit to eating more veggies & reducing meat, 10 mins of daily diaphragmatic breathing

^^ see the difference?

See intensity makes a good story Consistency makes progress.

And consistency will always out trump intensity.

Take strength training for example

Yes, the ‘single action’ of lifting weights for 15 minutes, on its own, is nothing

But it’s this single action, done over & over again that’s always holds the greater value

How do we stay consistent?

By getting accountable that’s how

To someone, or something

Whether it’s a running club, an OCR team, a friend, a personal trainer or a coach,

Accountability is the key to improving your performance

It’s one of the reasons why I created my new Players Club actually
